Bitdeer Lands Multibillion-Dollar AI Lease with Anthropic

Bitdeer has secured a major $4.7 billion AI lease tied to Anthropic, marking a significant expansion for the company beyond Bitcoin mining into AI infrastructure.

The 16-year agreement involves providing Volta with 121 megawatts of computing capacity at its Norway campus, which will be equipped with Nvidia chips and Dell Technologies' computing systems.

Bitdeer expects to generate approximately $290 million in annual revenue from the deal, increasing by 3% each year. However, the company must first invest around $500 million in building the facility before it can start generating revenue.

To meet this target, Bitdeer plans to raise new debt, which will also support its broader AI expansion. The company has hired financial institutions to lead the financing and expects the eventual loan to provide more capital than needed for the Norway project.
