Bitdeer Sells Bitcoin Holdings Amid Land Acquisition Push
Bitdeer's recent decision to sell its entire Bitcoin holdings of 189.8 BTC has caused concern among traders, with some speculating that the company may be headed for bankruptcy amid the cryptocurrency downturn.
The sale was made to raise liquidity and fund land acquisition opportunities currently under review, according to Bitdeer.
However, the company clarified on X that its decision to sell Bitcoin should not be a cause for concern, stating 'Our hash rate will continue to grow, and we will continue to mine more Bitcoin for the interest of our shareholders.'
The sale is part of Bitdeer's pivot towards providing support for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-power computing (HPC) workloads, which it believes can be done using its existing technology.
