Bitget Aims to Close the Crypto Gender Gap with Blockchain4Her Initiative
Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has launched its Crypto Anti-Bias Pledge ahead of International Women's Day. The pledge aims to address the gender participation gap in cryptocurrency and promote equal opportunities for women in the industry.
The exchange is backing the initiative with a $10 million Blockchain4Her program and an existing partnership with UNICEF that targets blockchain education for 1.1 million people by 2027, with approximately 90% of participants expected to be girls and young women.
According to Bitget's data, female-led blockchain startups receive only about 6% of total industry funding, despite research suggesting that female founders generate higher returns per dollar invested.
The exchange also reported that more than 40% of its senior management positions are held by women.
