Bitget Confirms Secure Cold Wallets Despite Hacking Incident
Bitget has assured users that its on-chain cold wallets remain secure despite a recent hacking incident.
The affected assets include Ether (ETH), XRP, BNB, Avalanche (AVAX), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC) and other tokens across various networks such as Ethereum, the XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain and Base.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen confirmed that the affected assets are being pursued for recovery through every available channel, but did not provide a specific timeline for when this would happen.
The exchange also stated that its protection fund exceeds $464 million, with funds held in publicly verifiable wallets, and that user funds are covered on a 1:1 basis.
