Bitget Crypto Hack Losses Revised to $387.5 Million
Bitget revised its estimate of the crypto stolen in a recent hack to approximately $387.5 million, increasing the severity of the incident that led the exchange to suspend withdrawals and investigate wallet activity.
The unauthorized transfers from parts of Bitget's hot- and warm-wallet infrastructure were detected at 2:31 p.m. ET on September 24 (18:31 UTC).
Initially, Bitget estimated the stolen funds to be $351.6 million but later included previously uncounted Zcash and TRON transactions from the same incident.
The affected assets include XRP, Ether (ETH), Tether (USDT), Zcash (ZEC), USD Coin (USDC), USDT0, Tether Gold (XAUt), BNB, Avalanche (AVAX), and TRON (TRX).
Bitget assured that its cold wallets were unaffected, while deposits and trading remained operational.
