Bitget Hack Drives Crypto Security Losses to Record-Breaking $1.26 Billion

Crypto security incidents have cost investors a total of $1.26 billion in losses during Q3 2026, according to data from blockchain security company CertiK.

The largest contributor to these losses was the Bitget hack, which accounted for about 31% of the quarter's losses with a staggering $387.5 million in damages.

Liquid Network's $319 million exploit on September 6 ranked second, followed by Tectonic at $120 million and the $112.7 million Coldcard theft.
