Bitget Hack Heist: Stolen XRP Begins Moving On-Chain
A substantial amount of XRP, stolen during the Bitget hack, is being moved on-chain. The hacker has begun transferring the funds, which have a total value of over $83 million. This development comes as it's been reported that roughly $75 million of the stolen XRP remains untouched in the original wallets.
Exchanges remain one of the few points where the stolen funds could potentially be intercepted before cashing out. Ripple has no ability to freeze wallets on the XRP Ledger, making exchanges a crucial line of defense against further losses.
