Bitget Hacked: $351.6M Lost in Unauthorized Transfers
Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it was hacked on September 24, 2026. According to Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, the company's security systems detected unauthorized transfers from several hot wallets at 6:31 PM UTC.
The exchange confirmed that approximately $351.6 million worth of funds were affected by the breach, but emphasized that cold wallets were secure and user assets were protected.
Bitget has a three-layered wallet architecture, with cold wallets being the most secure layer. The company stated that its emergency response team was activated within minutes of the incident being detected, and that law enforcement and security companies are involved in the process.
The exchange has temporarily suspended withdrawals as a precautionary measure while a security review is underway. However, deposits and trading continue as normal, with account balances remaining accurate and user assets protected.
