Bitget Hacked: Crypto Exchange Loses $351M in Latest High-Profile Heist

Share

Crypto exchange platform Bitget has suffered the largest theft of cryptoassets since the beginning of this year, with hackers making off with $351.6 million in assets.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when unauthorized transfers were detected, but the company claims that user funds are safe and losses will be covered by its protection fund, which holds more than $464 million.

Bitget's CEO Gracy Chen stated that the company holds over $1 billion in its own assets. The incident is the latest in a string of high-profile crypto hacks, with North Korea suspected to be behind some of these attacks.
