Bitget Hacker Moves Stolen XRP, Leaving Ripple Powerless to Freeze Funds
A hacker who stole $83 million worth of XRP from Bitget has moved the tokens to other wallets, leaving Ripple unable to freeze or forcibly move the funds.
The hack is estimated to have caused losses of around $387.5 million, but Bitget claims its protection fund can cover this amount, leaving customer assets unaffected.
The exchange plans to resume withdrawals for Bitcoin, Ether, and Tether in stages from September 28 to 30.
