The Bitget hack has taken another turn as hackers linked to the breach have moved a portion of their stolen funds into a private payment system. According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, around $3.9 million worth of Zcash (ZEC) entered a shielded pool called Ironwood on Wednesday.

The transfers, which took place between 08:15 and 08:46 UTC, represent about 15% of the total ZEC stolen during the breach. Once funds enter the shielded pool, the details disappear from public view, making it harder for investigators to track the money.

This is not the first time hackers linked to this breach have tried to hide their tracks. In an earlier case, about $6.3 million in ether was swapped for bitcoin through a service called THORChain, leaving a visible record that investigators could follow.
