Bitget Hackers Hide Millions in Zcash Private Pool

A recent development in the Bitget hack has added complexity to the investigation. Wallets linked to the attack moved approximately $3.9 million in ZEC into Zcash's Ironwood pool, a private payment system that obscures sender, recipient, and amount.

The funds entered Ironwood through three transfers between 08:15 and 08:46 UTC on September 30. This was about 15% of the ZEC stolen in the September 24 breach.

Pseudonymous blockchain investigator ZachXBT first flagged the movements, highlighting how this step changes the visibility of the transaction trail for investigators.
