Bitget Hit by $351.6 Million Hack, Exchange Promises Full Coverage
Crypto exchange Bitget has been hit by one of the largest hacks in 2026, with an estimated $351.6 million in digital assets taken from its internet-connected wallets.
The attack occurred on September 24 at 18:31 UTC and was detected when emergency procedures were triggered immediately, according to CEO Gracy Chen.
The breach was limited to parts of the hot and warm layers of Bitget's three-tier wallet system, while its offline cold wallets remained secure.
Withdrawing is currently suspended for all users pending a security review, although deposits and trading continue. The User Protection Fund, which holds more than $464 million, covers the full loss, Chen said.
