Bitget Hit with $170M Wallet Transfer Amid Hacking Concerns
Bitget, a global digital-asset exchange, is facing concerns over a possible wallet security incident after more than $170 million in funds was transferred to an unknown address. The transfers occurred from three hot wallets and one cold wallet believed to belong to Bitget, with assets including Ether, Tether's USDT, Circle's USDC, Avalanche's AVAX, and BNB.
On-chain analysts have raised the possibility that a wallet security incident may be responsible for the activity. Market analyst DCF GOD suggested that three Bitget hot wallets and one cold wallet may have been compromised, with a large portion of the transferred assets being swapped into Ether.
The total amount moved is estimated to be over $180 million, although the actual scale of losses remains unclear. The suspected wallets still hold about $530 million in additional assets, leading some to speculate that an external attack or internal reshuffling may have occurred.
