Share

Crypto exchange Bitget has confirmed a major security incident after someone made unauthorized transfers worth around $351.6 million on September 24, 2026.

The exchange's security systems detected the transfers at 18:31 UTC and its emergency team took action within minutes to stop withdrawals.

Bitget explained that its three-tier wallet system was compromised, with hot and warm wallets affected but cold wallets remaining safe.

The exchange has stopped withdrawals for now but kept deposits and trading open. User account balances are still intact, and the User Protection Fund, which holds over $464 million, covers the entire reported loss.
