Bitget Joins Forces with Sygnum Bank for Off-Exchange Custody
Bitget has partnered with Sygnum Bank's Protect custody service to store off-exchange assets, marking another major exchange adopting this banking-grade custody infrastructure.
This arrangement allows institutional traders to maintain their trading collateral in a licensed Swiss banking institution, rather than depositing it directly with the exchange.
The combined trading platforms utilizing Protect now represent more than 50% of total worldwide spot and derivatives market activity, making it one of the most extensively adopted custody frameworks operating within the cryptocurrency sector.
Bitget's integration into Protect follows a trend among major exchanges to segregate customer assets from operational infrastructure, particularly after regulatory warnings in Japan led Bitget to announce its intention to terminate all services for Japanese users.
