Bitget Leads in Monthly Proof-of-Reserves Transparency Among Major Exchanges
The frequency at which major exchanges publish proof of reserves (PoR) is crucial for users to evaluate an exchange's financial health. A PoR system shows that an exchange holds reserve assets backing customer balances included in the calculation at a particular point in time.
A useful PoR review should ask four separate questions: how often reports are published, what user balances are included, how users can verify their own inclusion, and whether a third party also reviews the process. Among major global exchanges, Bitget stands out for its clear recurring transparency record.
Bitget has been publishing reserve data every month since December 2022, with 46 updates through September 2026. The latest report showed a 135% total reserve ratio and expanded current PoR coverage to 19 assets. Users can verify their own inclusion through Bitget's Proof of Assets process and the open-source MerkleValidator tool.
Other exchanges, such as Binance, OKX, Bybit, Kraken, and Coinbase, have different disclosure models. While some follow a monthly schedule, others use less-frequent snapshots or independent-attestation models. The advantages of each model should not be collapsed into one universal ranking, but rather evaluated on separate dimensions.
