Bitget Restarts Withdrawals After Security Incident Involving Multiple Chains
Bitget is restoring withdrawals after a security incident involving multiple non-Ethereum Virtual Machine chains and 10 tokens. Unlike last year's Bybit breach, the theft method in this incident differed.
The platform will use a different recovery plan to restart withdrawals. Bitcoin (BTC) withdrawals are scheduled to resume on September 28 at 4 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC). Ether (ETH) withdrawals on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism are set for the same time on September 29.
Tether (USDT) withdrawals on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, and Tron are scheduled to return at 4 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC) on September 30. Withdrawals for other tokens, fiat currencies, and peer-to-peer transactions are planned for October 2 at the same time.
Trading and deposits will continue operating, and users do not need to take action in advance. Bitget's CEO Gracy Chen and Xie Jiayin will hold a community livestream 30 minutes before withdrawals resume on Monday to discuss the incident and answer questions.
