Bitget Resumes Withdrawals After $387.5M Security Breach, Offers Up To 10% Rewards
Bitget has announced that it will resume withdrawals after a $387.5 million security breach led to a temporary suspension of service.
The exchange will restart withdrawals in phases, starting with Bitcoin on September 28 at 08:00 UTC (1:30 PM IST), followed by Ethereum and USDT on September 29 and 30 respectively.
XRP and other assets are expected to return by October 2. Bitget has also launched a recovery bounty program offering up to 10% in total rewards for helping freeze or recover stolen funds.
The security issue has been fixed, but withdrawals were paused as an extra safety measure while the platform completed its security review. Deposits and other exchange services continued during this time because incoming deposits did not pose a threat to the platform's core systems.
