Bitget Revises Security Breach Report: $388M Affected, Contained Incident

Crypto exchange Bitget has issued an updated incident report regarding Thursday's security breach. The revised report clarifies that about $388 million in assets had been affected, not $352 million as previously reported.

The company confirmed that $387.5 million were transferred to attacker-controlled addresses based on onchain tracing, which is approximately $35 million more than initially estimated. This figure includes affected assets on Zcash and TRON that were not accounted for in the initial estimate.

Bitget stated that the incident remains contained and no further unauthorized transfers are possible. The exchange has launched a bounty program to incentivize freezing or recovering the stolen assets.
