Bitget Security Breach: $351M in Assets Transferred Unauthorized
Crypto exchange Bitget has confirmed a significant security breach involving an unauthorized transfer of approximately $351.6 million in assets.
The breach was detected on Thursday at 18:31 UTC, prompting the exchange to activate emergency response procedures.
According to Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, the incident affected a limited number of hot and warm wallets, but its cold wallets remained secure.
Affected assets included Ether (ETH), XRP (XRP), USDt (USDT), USDC (USDC), Avalanche (AVAX), BNB (BNB) and USDT0 (USDT0) on Arbitrum.
The exchange has temporarily suspended withdrawals to conduct a security review, with Chen stating that she expects withdrawals to reopen in 'a matter of hours or days'.
