Bitget Security Breach Affects $388 Million in Assets
Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has released an updated report on its recent security breach. The incident occurred earlier this week and affected approximately $388 million in assets. This figure is significantly higher than initially reported, with about $35 million more in assets being transferred to attacker-controlled addresses.
The revised estimate includes affected assets on Zcash and TRON that were not accounted for in the initial estimate. Bitget has confirmed that no further unauthorized transfers are possible, but withdrawals remain paused as a precautionary measure.
As part of its incident response, Bitget has launched a bounty program to incentivize freezing or recovering the affected assets. The company's CEO, Gracy Chen, did not comment on the updated report, and it remains unclear whether any North Korean hacking group was involved in the attack.
