Bitget Suspects North Korea in $352 Million Hack
Cryptocurrency platform Bitget was hacked in an attack that saw $351.6 million worth of digital assets withdrawn, according to its CEO Gracy Chen.
The breach occurred on Thursday afternoon US time and involved 19 transactions from part of the platform's hot and warm wallets, with cold wallets remaining protected.
The attacker compromised a critical internal wallet system, altered transfer data, and activated the authorization-signing process to facilitate the unauthorized withdrawals.
Bitget has temporarily suspended withdrawals while technical teams restore and strengthen the affected systems, but deposits and trading continue to operate.
