Bitget Wallet Hits 100M Users, Driven by Stablecoin Adoption
Bitget Wallet has hit a major milestone, surpassing 100 million users worldwide. This achievement is significant, as it marks the first time in the company's history that daily payment users outnumber traders.
The user base is spread across various regions, with over half of the global users residing in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In these areas, the wallet has become a stablecoin account, where users hold dollars and receive payments rather than engaging in speculative trading.
Nigeria stands out as a leading figure, accounting for around 60% of all stablecoin inflows into sub-Saharan Africa since 2019. According to a June 2026 International Monetary Fund report, households and small businesses drive the majority of these inflows, not institutional traders.
Bitget Wallet's success can be attributed in part to its direct bank transfer feature launched in Nigeria in November 2025. This feature converts stablecoins like USDT and USDC into naira and settles instantly across many partner banks, addressing a significant gap in the market.
The platform has also seen rapid growth in card issuance, with over 150,000 cards issued worldwide and accepted at more than 150 million merchants. Global card spending reached $31 million in the first half of 2026, up 191% from the second half of 2025, with emerging markets experiencing a 416% increase.
Bitget Wallet's Chief Operating Officer, Alvin Kan, notes that users in these markets do not perceive their on-chain accounts as 'crypto,' but rather as a routine payment method for everyday transactions. He believes this trend will shape the future of global finance.
