Bitget Wallet Hits 40 Million Downloads, Fuels Distribution Growth
Bitget has announced that its self-custody wallet has surpassed 40 million cumulative global downloads. This milestone is notable, but it's essential to understand what this figure represents.
The download count refers to total app installations, not monthly active users or funded wallets. A single user can install the app on multiple devices or reinstall it over time, which means that the actual number of active users may be lower than 40 million.
Despite this caveat, having a large installed base is crucial for Bitget's wallet business. With 40 million downloads, the company has more room to distribute swaps, tokenized-stock products, DeFi access, and other financial services directly through the wallet interface.
The line between an exchange app and a self-custody wallet is becoming increasingly blurred. Modern wallets often include integrated trading, token discovery, yield products, cross-chain transfers, and access to tokenized traditional assets. This makes user distribution strategically important for Bitget's growth.
