Bitget's self-custody wallet has reached a major milestone, surpassing 40 million cumulative downloads worldwide. This figure represents total app downloads, not monthly active users or active trading accounts.
The company emphasizes that the milestone reflects distribution growth as it adds more trading and tokenized-asset features to its wallet. The line between an exchange app and a self-custody wallet is becoming increasingly blurred, with modern wallets including integrated trading, token discovery, yield products, cross-chain transfers, and access to tokenized traditional assets.
The 40 million figure represents cumulative distribution rather than direct engagement. A large installed base gives Bitget more room to distribute swaps, tokenized-stock products, DeFi access, and other financial services directly through the wallet interface.
