BitGo Bolsters Institutional Trading with NYDIG Acquisition
BitGo has acquired NYDIG's institutional trading business and related assets, expanding its position as a comprehensive digital asset infrastructure company. This acquisition strengthens BitGo's derivatives, structured products, and financing capabilities, giving institutions access to a broader range of trading and capital markets services in a single integrated system.
The transaction includes around 30 NYDIG employees who have joined BitGo along with their institutional trading relationships. NYDIG's institutional trading business provides derivatives, structured products, financing, and capital markets solutions for asset managers, hedge funds, corporates, family offices, and other sophisticated institutional investors.
BitGo CEO Mike Belshe said that institutions increasingly want to work with a trusted partner that can support the full lifecycle of digital assets. He added that the acquisition is expected to enable BitGo to serve a broader base of sophisticated clients.
NYDIG intends to focus its resources on its vertically integrated power generation, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance computing data center development business.
