BitGo Boosts Institutional Crypto Push with NYDIG Trading Arm Acquisition
BitGo has made significant strides in its institutional crypto push by acquiring NYDIG's trading arm. The acquisition includes derivatives, structured products, financing, and capital markets services for clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, and companies. This move will 'meaningfully scale' BitGo's trading and infrastructure capabilities.
According to the announcement, about 30 employees have joined BitGo from NYDIG's institutional trading business. The transaction allows the company to focus its resources on power generation, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance computing data centers. NYDIG's development pipeline exceeds 3 gigawatts, including over 1 GW of capacity it expects to deliver in 2027 and 2028.
