BitGo Enters Brazil Amid Tokenization Boom
BitGo has established its presence in Brazil by launching a local subsidiary, BitGo Brasil Tecnologia Ltda., on July 25, 2025. This move positions the company to serve as a compliant partner for Brazilian banks and brokerages as they navigate the country's shifting regulatory environment.
The Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM) has been actively promoting tokenization in Brazil, with the formation of a Tokenization Working Group in July 2026. This group includes prominent market organizations such as ANBIMA and ABCripto, focused on building distributed ledger technology infrastructure that meets CVM standards.
Brazil's tokenized assets have seen significant growth, with $835 million in tokenized assets recorded by September 2026 across 386 series, 60 asset pools, and 378 unique smart contracts. The main exchange, B3, plans to launch its own tokenization platform and stablecoin product by late 2026.
