Bithumb Flags Three Altcoins Amid Security Concerns
Bithumb has issued a trading warning for three altcoins: Fetch.ai (FET), MultiversX (EGLD), and Across Protocol (ACX). The South Korean exchange based its decision on security incidents that could not be identified or resolved for FET and EGLD, as well as concerns over the sustainability and continuity of ACX's operations.
The warning comes amidst significant price movements in the market. According to CoinMarketCap data, EGLD was trading at approximately $4.18 on September 21, with a 24-hour gain of 12.83%.
Bithumb has announced plans to suspend deposits for FET and ACX on September 21, while withdrawals for FET have already been suspended. The exchange will review the situation for all three altcoins between October 12-16 (ACX) and October 19-23 (FET and EGLD), with possible outcomes including lifting the warning, extending it, or terminating trading support.
