Bithumb Sets Sights on 2028 Stock Market Listing
Bithumb has set its sights on listing on the stock market by 2028 after outlining key changes to its governance, financial reporting, and internal control systems.
The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange is working with leading domestic accounting firms to build a risk management framework, convert its financial reporting from K-GAAP to K-IFRS, and strengthen internal compliance and control processes ahead of the IPO. This includes spinning off Bithumb Asset to define responsibilities across business units more clearly.
Bithumb has outlined a three-stage process for the IPO, with key milestones including completing internal control improvements and K-IFRS conversion preparations in 2026, submitting its preliminary listing application and completing required audits in 2027, and targeting the completion of its IPO in 2028. The company notes that this timeline is subject to change depending on market conditions and regulatory review timelines.
