BitMart Closes Trading Operations Amidst Market Exit Wave

BitMart has announced that it will cease all trading operations on August 26, and officially shut down its platform by January 31, 2027. This decision marks the fifth notable exchange to exit the market this year, and the second in just a few days.

According to BitMart's official closure announcement, new registrations, deposits, and trading orders were suspended on July 26. The exchange cited a review of its operating conditions, market environment, and future strategy as the reason for its decision.

The BMX token, which is native to the platform, fell by roughly 47% following the announcement. This decline reflects the loss of utility for the token, as trading discounts and other benefits are no longer available when trading ends.

BitMart's decision comes after BitMEX published a similar closure timetable, with trading scheduled to end in September 2026. The BMEX token fell by 92% during this time, highlighting the weakening of the exchange's trading relevance and the token's utility.
