Bitmex Exits Trading Scene Amid Wind-Down Period

Share

Bitmex, the popular crypto derivatives exchange, has ceased operations as of September 23rd at midnight. Users can still access their accounts and initiate withdrawals.

The platform's shutdown was preceded by a wind-down period that began on July 23rd when new registrations were halted and traders were restricted from opening positions starting August 26th.

Balances left on the exchange after closure will be subject to an account fee for users who completed identity verification. The fee is either $50 equivalent or 1% per year, whichever is greater, charged monthly.
