A significant withdrawal of Bitcoin from BitMEX has been recorded, marking the first time an account has removed more than $10 million in BTC since the exchange announced its platform closure. The transaction saw 468.30 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $29.88 million, withdrawn to a newly created wallet identified as '19PtTo'. This move comes after BitMEX confirmed that it will shut down on September 23, 2026, at 04:00 UTC.

The exchange assured customers that all assets remain secure and instructed users to withdraw their funds before the closure. Although users will still be able to access their accounts to view balances and historical transaction information after the shutdown, they are urged to remove their assets as soon as possible. KYC-verified accounts retaining balances after the deadline will incur a monthly account fee of $50 or an annual rate of 1% applied to the remaining balance.
