BitMine and Strive Bolster Crypto Reserves with ETH and BTC Purchases
Two public companies, BitMine and Strive, have significantly expanded their cryptocurrency reserves in recent days. BitMine Immersion Technologies acquired an additional 32,447 ETH, bringing its total Ethereum position to 5.85 million tokens. This represents approximately 4.8% of the circulating supply, with a value of nearly $14.3 billion based on the current price.
BitMine's strategy involves not only accumulating tokens but also utilizing staking to generate yield from a portion of its reserve. As of August 23, 5.07 million ETH were locked in staking, which is expected to provide annual revenues of around $330 million, although this figure fluctuates with Ethereum network conditions.
Strive, on the other hand, acquired 1,110 BTC for approximately $81.5 million between August 17 and 21. This purchase brought its Bitcoin reserve to 21,356 tokens, a 5.5% increase in just one week. Strive's strategy relies heavily on capital markets to fund its cryptocurrency accumulation efforts.
