BitMine Expands Ethereum Holdings and Staking Infrastructure
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) released a significant update on October 5, 2026, revealing a substantial increase in its asset holdings. The company now manages $17.4 billion in combined crypto, cash, marketable securities, and so-called “moonshot” investments. This includes 6.02 million ETH tokens, 214 BTC, $643 million in cash and securities, and stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco. Notably, BitMine controls about 4.9% of the total Ethereum supply and has staked 5,067,309 ETH via its MAVAN platform, generating projected annualized staking revenues of $363 million.
The company emphasized its resilience during the 2025-2026 bear market, citing a large equity buyback of 21 million shares in 2026 and strong institutional backing. BitMine also highlighted its rapid progress toward owning 5% of all ETH in just 15 months, ongoing weekly ETH purchases since June 2025, and its addition to the Russell 1000 index. These milestones underscore its growing influence in the digital asset market and the central role of its staking infrastructure in future earnings.
Despite these positive developments, Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, rated BMNR as Neutral. The score reflects weak financial performance, including sharp profitability deterioration and heavy negative operating/free cash flow, although the company maintains a strong, low-leverage balance sheet. Technicals are positive, with price above key moving averages and supportive momentum, while valuation remains mixed due to a loss-making profile despite a ~3.9% dividend yield.
