Bitmine Lands $131M in Largest Ethereum Purchase Since June
Tom Lee's Bitmine, a NYSE-listed company, has made its largest Ethereum purchase since June, buying 53,501 ETH worth approximately $131 million. This acquisition brings Bitmine's total holdings to 5,901,112 ETH, representing 4.9% of the Ethereum supply and leaving it 98% of the way to its goal of controlling 5% of the network, known as the 'Alchemy of 5%'.
The purchase extends a 65-week streak of accumulation since Bitmine launched its treasury strategy on June 30, 2025. During this period, Bitmine has consistently added Ethereum to its holdings every week. The total value of Bitmine's assets now stands at $15.6 billion, including cash, other tokens, and 'moonshot' investments.
Bitmine remains the largest Ethereum treasury and the second-largest crypto treasury overall, behind Strategy. Lee pointed out that Ethereum has been one of the top performers since June 30, outpacing the S&P 500 by 5,430 basis points so far this quarter. He attributed this outperformance to institutions adding crypto exposure.
