BitMine Ramps Up Ethereum Holdings Amid Shift in Corporate Crypto Strategies
BitMine Immersion Technologies continues to rapidly accumulate Ethereum, increasing its reserves to 5.96 million ETH as of September 14. This represents approximately 4.9% of Ethereum's total supply of 122 million tokens.
The company has been actively purchasing ETH, adding an additional 27,000 tokens over the course of the week. BitMine estimates the total value of its crypto assets and cash reserves at around $15.8 billion.
Contrastingly, Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has taken a more conservative approach in recent weeks. The company has not purchased any BTC for two consecutive weeks, instead allocating approximately $139.3 million to repurchase its own STRC preferred shares.
The divergence between these two companies' strategies highlights an important trend in the development of corporate crypto reserves: market evaluation is shifting from solely focusing on accumulated coins to also considering financing methods, cost of capital, return on assets, and risk of dilution for shareholders.
