Bitmine Surges Ethereum Holdings with $14.8 Billion Acquisition
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has significantly boosted its Ethereum holdings by purchasing 53,501 ETH last week. This latest acquisition brings the company's total to nearly 5.9 million ETH, worth approximately $14.8 billion.
This represents about 4.9% of Ethereum's circulating supply. The purchase comes as Ethereum's price surged roughly 33% in August, reaching around $2,450 per coin.
Bitmine has staked a significant portion of its ETH, with 86% of its holdings being used to earn rewards, reflecting the company's strategic push to control a larger share of the network.
The company and investors are closely watching Ethereum as it faces a key price level near $2,400 and a mid-September Clarity Act vote that could impact blockchain adoption.
