BitMine to Slow Down Ethereum Purchases as Accumulation Goal Nears
BitMine's Ethereum accumulation goal is nearing completion, prompting management to consider slowing down purchases. The firm has already acquired over 5.1 million ETH, valued at $11.9 billion, and holds a significant portion of its assets in protocols that generate over $300 million annually.
According to Chairman Tom Lee, BitMine plans to decelerate its purchasing pace as it reaches the target of accumulating 5% of the total Ethereum asset supply within five years. The firm has been one of the few major companies to continue buying cryptocurrencies during market corrections, in contrast to others that have resorted to selling.
Lee emphasized that BitMine remains profitable through staking and cash generation, with approximately 85% of its assets locked in protocols. This allows the company to avoid selling coins during periods of high volatility.
