BitMine's Immersion Technologies has accumulated a significant stake in Ethereum (ETH), holding nearly 12% of the network's active stake. This economic influence is substantial, but the company has not disclosed who controls the validators behind its staked ETH.

The 5.07 million ETH staked by BitMine as of September 7 represents about 85% of its total holdings and is valued at roughly $12.6 billion. Using the approximately 43.03 million ETH actively securing Ethereum, BitMine's position equals around 11.8% of the network's active stake.

BitMine's economic exposure is substantial, but measuring its influence over Ethereum's consensus requires additional information about how its assets are distributed among validator operators and who controls the signing keys used to propose blocks and attest to transactions.

The company has not provided this breakdown, stating only that a portion of its ETH was already staked through MAVAN, its institutional staking platform. BitMine aims to own 5% of Ethereum's total supply and directs most of those holdings toward staking.
