BitMine's 17k ETH Purchase Fuels Ethereum Momentum Amid Q4 Uncertainty
BitMine's latest Ethereum (ETH) purchase of 17,000 units has added to the growing momentum in favor of the altcoin. The company's move comes as ETH outperforms Bitcoin (BTC) with a quarterly return of over 70%, compared to BTC's 43%. This significant gap is not expected to continue into Q4, traditionally a strong quarter for Bitcoin.
The current price action suggests that Ethereum may be gaining strength, with the Altcoin Season Index breaking above its mid-August high and Bitcoin dominance down nearly 1.7% this month. BitMine's purchase also coincides with other institutional buying activity in ETH, such as MSTR and Strive.
The question remains whether this momentum will carry into Q4, a period that has historically favored Bitcoin. However, if Ethereum can break above the 0.03 resistance level on its chart against Bitcoin, it could confirm its outperformance and set the stage for another strong quarter.
