Bitpace Bolsters Stablecoin Settlements with Fireblocks Integration
London-based crypto payment gateway Bitpace has strengthened its cross-border stablecoin settlement capabilities through an integration with Fireblocks. This collaboration enables merchants and businesses to send and receive payments, particularly in USDC, without relying on the traditional correspondent banking system.
The move allows for faster and more cost-effective transactions compared to traditional cross-border payments, which can take days and incur fees ranging from 1.5% to 6% of the transaction value. Stablecoin transfers through Bitpace's platform settle in minutes at a fraction of that amount.
Bitpace's auto-conversion feature is particularly relevant here. A merchant in Germany can accept payment in Bitcoin, have it instantly converted to USDC, and settle in euros without navigating the SWIFT network or multiple intermediaries.
The integration also gives Bitpace access to Fireblocks' policy engine, which enables organizations to set granular transaction rules such as whitelisted addresses, velocity limits, and multi-approval workflows. This extends beyond simple custody, distributing key shares across multiple independent systems via MPC-based wallet infrastructure.
