Bitpanda and RBI Expand Crypto Access for 18 Million CEE Bank Customers
Bitpanda and Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) are expanding their partnership to offer digital assets to RBI's network banks in Central and Eastern Europe. The framework will allow RBI's regional network of around 18 million customers to access cryptocurrencies through their existing banking environment.
The technical infrastructure comes from Bitpanda Enterprise, the B2B arm of the Vienna-based crypto broker. This is a significant expansion of their previous collaboration, which saw Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien (RLB NÖ-Wien) become the first traditional bank in the EU to offer crypto trading directly within its banking app.
The rollout will happen step by step, with each network bank deciding on its own offering and timing. The launch date and countries involved have not been named. According to Bitpanda, business with banks and financial service providers is a key growth area for the company.
