Bitpanda Fees Vary by Asset, Ranging from 0.99 to 2.49 Percent
Bitpanda, a cryptocurrency trading platform, charges fees ranging from 0.99 to 2.49 percent, depending on the asset's price tier. The platform assigns each coin to one of four tiers, with stablecoins like EURCV in the lowest tier, paying 0.99 percent. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is also in the lowest tier, paying the same 0.99 percent as stablecoins. The highest tier, reserved for small caps and Spotlight assets, charges 2.49 percent. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the purchase or sale amount, and it's charged twice, once on the way in and once on the way out.
Using the cost information document provided by Bitpanda, the platform calculates that the total cost of a 100-euro purchase and sale would be 1.97 euros for a tier 2 asset, 2.96 euros for a tier 3 asset, and 4.92 euros for a tier 4 asset. For a savings plan of 100 euros a month, the difference between the cheapest and most expensive tiers would be 18 euros a year.
The platform also offers Bitpanda Fusion, a trading interface for active users, which charges a flat 0.25 percent fee for trading volumes up to 100,000 euros. This fee is significantly lower than the tiered system, and it would save a user around 11.88 euros a year on a savings plan of 100 euros a month. However, this interface requires more learning and expertise to use, making it less suitable for casual investors.
