Bitpanda Hit with €70,000 Fine for Crypto-Rule Violations
Austria's Financial Market Authority has finalized a €70,000 fine against Bitpanda GmbH for violating crypto-asset rules.
The penalty concerns violations of a crypto-asset white paper and marketing communications under the European Union's MiCA regulation.
Bitpanda was authorized as a crypto-asset service provider in April 2025 under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which includes licensing and consumer-protection requirements.
The fine underscores that authorization under MiCA does not remove a company's compliance obligations, according to the regulator's decision.
