Bitpanda Reports 14 Million Euro Loss Despite 16 Percent Revenue Growth
Bitpanda, a European cryptocurrency exchange, reported a significant loss of around 14 million euros for the 2025 financial year. This comes after a profit of 61.7 million euros the year before, on adjusted revenue that rose to 371 million euros. Despite the loss, Bitpanda's revenue increased by 16 percent, showing a growing business.
The deficit arises from the company's decision to invest in its expansion and building out the Bitpanda brand. This is reflected in the largest single increase, which is in marketing spend, rising by 56 percent to just under 107 million euros. This accounts for almost 29 percent of revenues.
The company's operating result is positive, at 4.1 million euros, but the financial result is negative, at minus 18.3 million euros. This is due to write-downs on holdings and higher interest expenses, which do not come from the trading business with customers.
It's essential for customers to know which company holds their crypto assets and who supervises it. Bitpanda GmbH, the company's operating trading company, is supervised by the Austrian financial market authority FMA. There are further authorised entities within the group, including Bitpanda Asset Management GmbH, which is based in Germany and supervised by BaFin.
