Bittensor Token Soars on Protocol Upgrades

The Bittensor token (TAO) has seen a significant price surge in recent sessions, climbing as much as 18% and pushing toward $277. This move follows protocol changes made by the network, including upgrades to subnet emissions, staking, and root-network rewards.

One of these upgrades is the V440 Emission Gate, which introduces a demand threshold for subnet emissions. Subnets above this threshold retain price-linked emissions, while weaker subnets see emissions decline toward zero. This change aims to shift rewards toward subnets attracting stronger market demand rather than maintaining passive value across every slot.

The network has also rolled out V441, V446, V447, and V448, covering root staking, alpha accounting, conviction-based subnet ownership, and safer staking operations.
