Bittensor’s TAO Consolidates Awaiting Next Breakout Test
Bittensor’s native token, TAO, is currently in a consolidation phase around $302, with key support at $295 and resistance at $318. This period follows a recent rally where TAO broke through the $277.20 resistance level, reaching a high of $341 before encountering profit-taking pressure. Despite a brief sell-off attempt in early October, buyers managed to defend the structure, preventing a larger decline.
The current consolidation is marked by shrinking trading volumes and fading momentum, indicating that traders are awaiting a fresh catalyst. The next significant test for TAO is the $318 resistance level. A breakout above this level, supported by increased volume, could propel TAO toward targets of $326 and $341. Conversely, a fall below $295 would expose TAO to downside pressure, potentially pushing it toward $283 and $277.20.
TAO’s consolidation comes on the heels of a broader AI-driven rally in September, where the crypto sector saw a 54% gain. TAO itself gained 37% during this period, though it lagged behind other AI-focused projects like NEAR Protocol, which surged 183%, and Venice Token, which rose 70%. This suggests that while TAO benefited from the AI narrative, it may need stronger relative demand to sustain its momentum.
The future of TAO hinges on whether it can capitalize on the growing interest in decentralized AI infrastructure. If investors increasingly value this sector, TAO could attract fresh capital and close the performance gap with other AI projects. However, if the trend does not continue, TAO may struggle to remain competitive in the rapidly expanding AI space.
