Bitvavo Winds Down SWEAT Trading Amidst Token's Staged Wind-Down

The Sweatcoin token, SWEAT, is winding down in stages, with two key deadlines: October 7 and December 30, 2026.

The Dutch exchange Bitvavo is closing deposits, trading, and withdrawals for SWEAT on October 7, with the token being automatically converted into euros by October 15, 2026, at the latest.

The reasons behind the wind-down include a sustained downturn in the crypto markets, loss of exchange listings, a security incident in April 2026, and slower growth in new users.

For holders with small balances, the withdrawal fee eats up the proceeds, but for larger balances, the fee becomes an ordinary transaction cost.

After October 7, only one trading venue remains open for SWEAT in euros: Kraken.
